Rant 1: So I was out the other weekend doing a little entertainment purchases when I find to my dismay the new "Wii": Guitar Hero controllers.
Somehow these suckers have become harder to get a hold of than a Wii. New Year's Eve, everyone had one. 5 weeks later, no one has one (in the general local vicinity). There are probably sites on the internet that have them available and would love to ship one to me, but adding the second player experience is something that I want now, now 3-5 days from now. 3-5 days from now, my friends won't be at my house, it'll be the middle of the work week.
This seems to be a popular trend with console items. As consoles in general have become more popular, accessories (and the consoles themselves) have become harder to get a hold of. As far back as I can remember, the first console that I can recall from my lifetime that started this trend was the PS2.
Now time for Rant #2!. As my cell phone continues to age and the battery life gets even shorter as each day passes, I have been eagerly watching the upcoming cellphone offerings from the various manufacturers. Each manufacturer has been releasing new versions of old phones and (wait for it) brand new phones. But one problem is being found in all of them: the attached camera. Why do cellphone manufacturers think that that every person wants (or can have) a camera on their phone? Did the thought ever cross their mind that maybe we want to make and receive phone calls with our phone? Ok, yes, I understand that people do like this feature and its not THAT bad, unless you work in one of the industries where said device is not allowed in the work place. Those of us who work in the defense industry, for the government, large corporations, etc. cannot have cell phones with camera's on them in the work environment. Oh yes, you can have the phone and leave it in your car while you're inside the building but then what's the purpose of having the phone if you can't use it? It'd be like leasing a car, and then just leaving it garage at home since you can't have the vehicle at work and you decide to just walk the 15 miles to work.
So now I'm stuck with a choice between 3 different phones that have nothing that it makes it worthwhile to upgrade my current phone. Oh, and the only phone that looks somewhat appetizing costs more than a replacement battery for my current phone. So someone please remind me why I want to pay to upgrade my phone?

I'm getting better with these posts. It's only been 5 months since the last post, not 7. ::cough,cough::slacker::cough::
So a group of us from work were going to attempt the Best Buy campout to obtain a coveted PS3, but by Tuesday evening people had already started lining up, crushing our hopes and dreams. The event of camping out for this release is surely one to go down in the books and be remembered for all time, just like the PS2 launch.
What don't remember the PS2 launch? Allow me to quickly refresh your memory: children beaten with baseball bats, lead pipes, a brick with a nail in it... maybe that last one didn't happen.... by adults all in the spirit of Christmas. It was the item to have for Christmas of 2000. Retailers had to double-wrap and hide the received units for those who had pre-ordered in rough attempts to increase the odds that a purchaser of the Holy Grail would actually complete the transition to its destined location. Needless to say, the word fiasco does not encompass that which came to be that holiday season. Did we (the kids of the house) obtain one, you might ask? Why yes we did, and not by camping out or ruthlessly beating it out of someone but by happening to be in the right place at the right time.
To immortalize the PS3 launch, I decided to snap some photos of those waiting outside the local Best Buy on Thursday 11/16/06 at 8:00AM, 24Hours away from the moment when human will transcend to beast. Had I been able to partake in the PS3 campout/launch, I would have more material than this. If you have any pictures, movies, stories that you'd like forever remembered, don't hesitate to e-mail them to me.

So news... sparse as usual..
Well, the second ...gasp, did you just say second?... child is due any day now. Actually it was due this past Sunday so s/he should be here any minute now. Where's that damn stork when you need it?
As for site news, the forums have been expanding and new sections being added all the time(TM). I have an idea formulated to add in a section covering commonly requested things, like How to Haxor Your Motorola Cell Phone and other similar oft requested items. But morph, you say, you haven't even finished the rants section yet?!!. Yeah, that is true. Maybe someday I'll actually be motivated enough to move forward on the website. ::shrug:: It just seems that I come up with the cool ideas but then never have gumption to actually ever attempt to hack together something ugly.
Oh, you may notice some layout changes to the site. I'm working some tweaks to the layout of things. If you hate anything, send me a line and I'll read the e-mail,.... and then delete. :) Seriously, if its really bad, tell me. I like feedback, and things inside my inbox besides spam about my Rolax watch that I don't have, or how I could blow a load like a shotgun. (Point out where that last quote came from.)

It's that time again. What time is it? Time for an update!
So I've added Legend of the Green Dragon as a playable game on eklipse.net! In case you're too young or never got a chance to dial-in to a BBS then you won't have the nostalgia that some of us old fogeys have for the games of yonder years.
Anyways... LoTGD is based on a game known as Legend of the Red Dragon (LoRD) and is quite fun! It's a multiplayer RPG. So sign-up and start playing today.
I'll have a button added to the side shortly, until then you can use the link in this news post.
